CALGARY – Medicine Hat Tigers centre Cayden Lindstrom will represent Team Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup this summer in Slovakia and Czechia.

Lindstrom was a finalist for the Western Hockey League rookie of the year award after suiting up in 61 games and scoring 41 points (19 goals, 23 assists).

Lindstrom is no stranger to wearing the red and white, having represented Canada at the U17 tournament in Langley, BC, this past fall.

“It’s an honour to just get the call, always excitement, it’s always good to put on that jersey again. I’m ready to play any role that I’m given and just adapt to any situation that comes up for me,” Lindstrom told the Tigers website.

Canada will open the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup against Finland on July 31 at 11 a.m. It will also take on co-host Slovakia and Switzerland in the preliminary round before the tournament concludes with the medal games on Aug. 5.
