MEDICINE HAT, AB – Parents looking to get their children more active during the summer months don’t have to look very far.

Medicine Hat YMCA locations will run free summer programs for children ages three to 18.

The drop-in program comprises three different age groups to keep kids of similar ages together. Each program consists of one-hour drop-in classes ranging from open gyms to swimming, and art classes to keep kids occupied through the summer.

“We just thought it was nice for kids to have something to do over the summer months and something that’s affordable for parents and doesn’t require a membership, just to keep kids healthy and engaged,” says Sharon Hayward, CEO of YMCA Medicine Hat.

The program will conclude at the end of the summer. Visit the Medicine Hat YMCA website for a program schedule.
