Nominations open for Taber byelection
TABER, AB – Residents of Taber looking to run for town council now have the opportunity to do so.
The Town of Taber has announced the dates for its municipal by-election.
Last month, Alf Rudd announced his resignation from council so that he could accept a new job as the victim services manager with the Taber Police Service. This meant that he was both an elected member of council and an employee of the municipality, which is prohibited under the Municipal Government Act.
Until Aug. 10, residents can submit their nomination papers to the Returning Officer to become a council candidate.
