PONOKA, AB – On Semi Final Saturday, the 2023 Ponoka Stampede featured a showdown with eight drivers divided into two heats. Their goal was to advance through the semi-final round and secure a coveted spot in Sunday’s highly anticipated $75,000.00 Tommy Dorchester Championship Final Heat.
Chanse Vigen, Evan Salmond, Layne MacGillivray and Kris Molle emerged as the survivors of the semi-final round. They will make up the lineup for the $75,000.00 final heat. However, last year’s Ponoka Stampede Champion, Ross Knight, narrowly missed out on the winner-take-all final by 11 one-hundredths of a second, landing him in a disappointing position. Wade Salmond, Codey McCurrach, and Jamie Laboucane also competed in Sunday night’s semi-final round.
