Stampede parade saved by volunteers

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede parade is a go next month.

In May, president Darlene Keeler said the parade was in jeopardy because of a shortage of volunteers for this year’s Stampede.

People answered the call and the parade will go ahead on July 27.

On CHAT News at Noon on Thursday, Keeler said a wonderful group of people have formed a committee to get the parade going.

Keeler says there are about 15 entries in the parade so far and four bands.

Visit the Stampede website to submit your entry. The deadline is July 24.

The parade will start at 9 a.m. leaving from the Medicine Hat Police Service building and winding its way downtown along First, Second and Third Streets before heading back to the Flats along River Road.
