Taber man killed in collision

BROOKS, AB–A 25-year-old man from Taber is dead following a collision Tuesday morning.

RCMP says two Fortis Alberta vehicles were parked on the shoulder of Highway 550, just outside Duchess when they were struck by a linen truck.

The Fortis employees were outside of their vehicles at the time conducting electrical repairs in the ditch when the collision occurred.

The driver of the linen truck was declared deceased at the scene, despite life saving attempts from the Fortis employees. He was identified as a 25-year-old resident of Taber.

Several of the Fortis employees were struck by debris, one of which sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to the hospital.

The investigation continues. RCMP extend thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the deceased.
