MEDICINE HAT, AB – Petro-Canada gas stations in Medicine Hat and Redcliff have been impacted by what parent company Suncor says was a “cybersecurity incident” this weekend.

Staff at the stores CHAT News called say the pay-at-the-pump function is down Monday afternoon. The stations are able to accept debit and credit cards in-store, the employees say.

Some Petro-Canada gas stations in the country are only able to take cash following the incident. The company’s Petro-Points loyalty program is also offline.

The company said it is working with third-party experts to investigate and resolve the situation, and has notified appropriate authorities.

“At this time, we are not aware of any evidence that customer, supplier or employee data has been compromised or misused as a result of this situation,” the company said in its release.
