CALGARY – Police in Calgary say a 23-year-old woman has died after the Jeep Liberty she was driving crossed the centre line of Peigan Trail into the path of oncoming traffic in southeast Calgary.

They say she collided head-on Friday afternoon with a semi-truck being driven by a man in his 50s.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the semi was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Police say excessive speed, drugs or alcohol are not considered factors in the collision. (The Canadian Press)
