ALERT bust prevents drugs from ending up on city streets
MEDICINE HAT, AB–Two people from Calgary are facing drug trafficking charges following an ALERT investigation that concluded in Medicine Hat.
The ALERT team received intelligence earlier this month that led to th the identification of a vehicle believed to be involved in drug trafficking.
A planned traffic stop of the vehicle was initiated in Medicine Hat. 510 grams of methamphetamine were found inside. The drugs have an estimated street value of $30,540.00.
Sgt. David Gornisiewicz with ALERT stated, “it’s our understanding that these drugs were being brought to Medicine Hat with the intention of being sold and ending up on our streets. Having seized this amount, and laying charges on those involved, speaks volumes and says that we don’t want this kind of activity in our community.”
