MEDICINE HAT — A woman has been ordered to stand trial on charges she defrauded her former employer of more than $100,000.

However a charge of theft over $5,000 against Christie Ann Chabot has been withdrawn.

Redcliff RCMP say they started an investigation in June 2021 after receiving a complaint from a business owner.

The accusations against Chabot cover a two year period beginning in May of 2021.

Chabot , 43 years of age, moved from Alberta to Iqaluit, Nunavut and an arrest warrant was issued in April of 2022.

She surrendered to Redcliff RCMP on May 24 of last year.

No date has been set for her trial on a charge of fraud over $5,000.
