Echo Dale Little Pioneers camp expands, spots still available

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Echo Dale Historical farm is inviting kids to step back in time with Little Pioneers camp. This day camp is for kids four and older, and offers three sessions over the summer.

Last year, Echo Dale tested Little Pioneers, to see if it would be successful. After positive feedback, they are bringing it back, and adding two more sessions.

Little Pioneers will allow children to learn the lives of early settlers in Alberta.

Denis Jackson assists with the camps, and brings his farm animals to Echo Dale each weekend, from White Barn Fun Farm in Brooks.

Jackson says Little Pioneers is perfect for kids who want a unique and hands-on experience.

“To teach kids what it was like a hundred years ago. It does give them the tour of the the farm itself here the facility as well as different things, like how ice cream was made,” Jackson explains.

He adds, “there’s always a snack game and craft that pertain to to what’s going on and stuff and it just basically teaches them about life without power.”

The first camp begins June 2, and there are still spots available.
