E-scooter service now includes city’s south end

May 28, 2023 | 9:00 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Bird e-scooters have landed in the city’s south end.

On Friday, the City of Medicine Hat revealed the expansion of the service zone.

“After the announcement of Bird’s return for a second year, we were inundated with requests to expand the program particularly to the south of the city,” said Kara Brake, business and innovation coordinator, parks and recreation.

“Safety of our residents was priority in the expansion process. We worked closely with Bird to ensure the appropriate geographical area and roadways were mapped out prior to launching.”

The expansion means increased convenience and accessibility for residents and visitors to use the fun, eco-friendly transportation option for commutes or to explore the city.

The app with the full city map is available on Apple or Google Play.

The city reminds riders to follow local regulations, wear a helmet, park responsibly and avoid crowded pedestrian areas. Individuals should always check the e-scooter’s condition before riding and report any maintenance issues directly to Bird.

If riders have any questions or concerns regarding the service, they can reach out directly to Bird Canada by email at hello@bird.co or by phone 1-866-205-2442.
