Today, Canada hosted its first-ever Women’s National Basketball Association game, as the Chicago Sky played against the Minnesota Lynx in the pre-season.
The Sky won 82-74 in the historic game that marked the third preseason WNBA game ever played outside the United States.
Previous games were held in Monterrey, Mexico in 2004 and Manchester, England in 2011.
The much-anticipated game took place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, amid growing encouragement from basketball fans of establishing a WNBA franchise in Canada.
