Evacuation order in place for Fox Creek

UPDATE: Residents of Fox Creek and Little Smoky are being required to evacuated as a wildfire is in their proximity. All areas immediately surrounding these communities along Highway 43 are to evacuate as well.

A wildfire is forcing the evacuation of Fox Creek and the surrounding area.

A reception centre has been established at the Allan and Jean Millar Centre in Whitecourt.

People without transportation can go to the parking lot at the Fox Creek Community Hall.

Information is also being posted on Municipal Facebook Pages and websites. People needing help can also call 780-622-4412.

Due to an out-of-control wildfire, Fox Creek and immediate area residents must evacuate.

Evacuees are being told to use Highway 43 to get to Whitecourt, then register at the Allan and Jean Millar Centre on Sunset Blvd.

Anyone without transportation, or require bussing is told to go to the Fox Creek Community Hall Parking Lot, or call 780-622-4412 for help.
