Crestwood Pool to reopen sooner than expected

MEDICINE HAT, AB – After a boiler issue closed the doors of Crestwood Pool, the pool was expected to open within three weeks.

But just after two weeks – the pool is set to reopen.

The pool dives into its normal hours on Monday, May 8, 2023.

This is due to the main boiler and some additional maintenance being completed quicker than expected.

The recreation manager for the City of Medicine Hat, Lisa Kennedy, says having a boiler already ordered last fall, is what quickened the process.

Kennedy confirms that the community can return to their usual activities at the pool.

“We’re reopening with regular programming – right from the get go first thing in the morning, and all of our swimming lessons and aqua fit classes will be back here that week as well,” said Kennedy.

She says that having Crestwood Pool open this summer will also help the community, with Echo Dale being closed.
