An old favorite gets a new name

MEDICINE HAT, AB–The Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede and South Country CO-OP are joining forces with one of the most recognizable facilities on the grounds.

Pioneer Village, centrally located on the Stampede grounds is a small-town style setting to recognize and preserve the heritage and pioneer spirit of the early 20th century.

It will now carry the CO-OP name and be known as CO-OP Pioneer Village. It is home to a one-room school house, General Store, Blacksmith shop, Church, Mounted police barracks, and retro fire hall.

The facility is a popular spot to host weddings, family reunions, Canada Day, Old Tyme Christmas, and school field trips.
