STANDOFF, AB – The Blood Tribe Police Service (BTPS) has apprehended one person in connection to alleged drug trafficking.

On Friday, April 14, members of the BTPS Drug Task Force, BTPS Community Policing Division, and RCMP Police Dog Services searched a home in Moses Lake, located on the First Nation.

Officers say they seized 13 grams of suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $2,600, as well as nearly $1,500 in cash.

A 49-year-old woman is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine and possession of property/currency obtained by crime.

She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cardston Provincial Court in May.

Four other people were arrested without incident but were later released without charges.
