Tigers one loss from elimination after 7-2 drubbing in Game 3

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Tigers dug themselves a deep hole early in the first home playoff game since 2019 and find themselves down 3-0 to the Winnipeg Ice in their first-round WHL playoffs series. The Ice scored three times in the first six minutes on their way to a 7-2 win in Game 3.

Zack Ostapchuk scored just one minute into the game and less than five minutes later Evan Friesen and Matthew Savoie added goals at 13 seconds apart to stake the Ice to the 3-0 lead. Brendan Lee scored just over two minutes later to get the Tigers to the break down just two goals.

Ty Nash and Connor Geekie in the second period and Connor McClennon and Easton Armstrong in the third period continued the onslaught. Tigers rookie Gavin McKenna rounded out the scoring.

The Tigers look to extend their season in Game 4 on Wednesday. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
