Total snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm are likely near Cypress Hills,” reads the warning issued by the weather service at 3:39 p.m. on Saturday. “Strong winds with gusts up to 80 km/h are also expected tonight and Sunday. Winds combined with falling snow will likely cause reduced visibilities in blowing snow.”
The waning goes on the state visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow and advises locals to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
