Pregame: Oil Kings at Tigers
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The playoff fate of the Medicine Hat Tigers will come down to the weekend series with the Swift Current Broncos. But the Tigers can get a stranglehold on a playoff spot tonight at home against the lowly Edmonton Oil Kings.
The Tabbies (28-28-8-1) are currently eighth in the Eastern Conference, one point up on the ninth-place Broncos. They are also one point back of the Calgary Hitmen in seventh.
Medicine Hat will look to sweep the six-game season series against the Oil Kings (9-51-4-0). On Friday in Edmonton, Dru Krebs scored three times in the third period of a 7-2 victory.
Oasiz Weisblatt’s 58 points lead the orange and black, with Andrew Basha and Brendan Lee close behind at 55 points. Rookie Gavin Hodnett leads the Oil Kings with 41 points.
