MEDICINE HAT, AB – Three games away from the end of the regular season the fate of the Medicine Hat Tigers and the second season isn’t set yet.

This past weekend the Tigers dropped a pair of games to one of the teams they’re battling for the final postseason positions. This weekend they end the regular season against the other.

The Tigers currently hold the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference. When all is said and done they could make the postseason in seventh or eighth, or out of the playoff picture in ninth.

Medicine Hat is currently one point behind the Calgary Hitmen for seventh and three points up on the Swift Current Broncos in ninth.

The Hitmen left Co-op Place Saturday with a 2-0 win over the Tabbies and then scored a 4-3 win on Sunday at the Scotiabank Saddledome. With the wins, the Hitmen leapfrogged the Tigers into seventh place.

The Tigers start their final week on Wednesday hosting the Edmonton Oil Kings. The Tabbies are 5-0 against Edmonton this season, including a 7-2 win on Friday.

The Tigers wrap up the regular season with two games against the Broncos, Friday in Swift Current and Saturday at home.
