RCMP believe vehicle crossed centre median before two-vehicle collision
BOWELL, AB – Preliminary findings by Redcliff RCMP are that heavy fog was a contributing factor to a two-vehicle collision west of the town on Thursday morning.
Redcliff RCMP and Cypress County Fire and EMS responded to the collision on the Trans-Canada Highway at Range Road 80, near Bowell at about 4:40 a.m. Police say the investigation, which is ongoing, has so far revealed a westbound vehicle carrying two occupants crossed the centre median which caused the vehicle to flip onto its side and it was then struck by an eastbound passenger vehicle.
A 45-year-old male passenger from the flipped vehicle was transported to Medicine Hat Regional Hospital via EMS with non-life-threatening injuries, say RCMP. No other injuries were reported.
The eastbound highway was affected for several hours for cleanup of the collision.
