MEDICINE HAT, AB – Their best effort of the series wasn’t enough for the Medicine Hat Cubs to extend their season.
The Cubs lost 3-2 to the Okotoks Bisons on Tuesday night at the Kinplex. The loss in Game 4 completes a sweep by the Bisons of the Heritage Junior Hockey League South Division Finals.
It was a third period to forget for the home side.
The Cubs got goals from Connor Douglas in the first and Cooper Hilworth in the second to take a 2-0 lead into the final 20 minutes. The Bisons chipped away throughout the period and Alaister Standen scored the eventual game-winner shorthanded with just over three minutes to go.
