Zellers announces Medicine Hat opening date

About a decade after closing, Zellers is returning to Medicine Hat this month.

The company announced in a news release on Tuesday that its pop-up stores inside Hudson’s Bay locations in Alberta will open on March 23. Medicine Hat Mall joins Sunridge Mall in Calgary and Kingsway Garden Mall in Edmonton as the only three Zellers stores in Alberta.

According to the department store, customers can expect to find kitchen and bath products, home decor, organization and storage, pet needs, toys for kids and apparel basics for the whole family.

“At the heart of the Zellers experience is its price philosophy: Everyday Low Prices,” says the retailer. “Instead of limited-time sales or discounts, Zellers shoppers will know they are getting the best price, every day, no matter when they shop.”

As well, the Zellers Diner on Wheels will visit the different store locations over the opening days. The schedule has not been released.

The online Zellers.ca e-commerce site and the nine Zellers locations in Ontario will also launch on on March 23.

There was previously a Zellers store in the Medicine Hat Mall area that is now the food court. That store closed in 2012 and was briefly converted into a Target.
