Vanilla Ice headlines ’90s show, plus two nights of country for Stampede grandstand music lineup

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede is turning down the temperature on the annual summer celebration in the coolest way possible.

Vanilla Ice leads the I Love The 90s lineup for the grand finale on Saturday, July 29. The Ice Ice, Baby singer will be joined by Color Me Badd and C+C Music Factory.

Vanilla Ice was a superstar in the early 1990s with Ice, Ice, Baby topping Billboard charts and a cover of Play That Funky Music also becoming a hit for the rapper. he continued to make music and also became an actor and appeared in reality TV.

Color Me Badd is best known for its singles I Wanna Sex You Up and All 4 Love. They’ve sold more than 12 million records worldwide and nine Top 40 hits. They are one-time winners at the American Music Awards and two-time Grammy Award nominees.

C+C Music Factory’s hit singles include Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now), Here We Go (Let’s Rock & Roll) and Things That Make You Go Hmmm…. The duo stopped recording in 1996 and reformed in 2010 to tour again.

The Stampede kicks off with two nights of country music. Dean Brody headlines the Wednesday, July 26 night show after an opening performance by Tyler Joe Miller.

Canadian country music star Brody has had hits in recent years with Bring Down the House, Bush Party and Canadian Girls. He’s a 16-time winner at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards and has won two Juno Awards.

Miller was the first independent artist to debut with back-to-back No. 1 hits on the Billboard Canada Country chart with Pillow Talkin’ and I Would Be Over Me Too.

The following night Joe Nichols takes the stage. He has six No. 1 singles including Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off and Gimme That Girl.

Stampede officials say they hope to have tickets on sale on March 21 at mhstampede.com.

In addition to announcing the night show performers, the Stampede also gave the dates for other popular events this season.

The Broncs & Honky Tonks Spring Rodeo goes April 14-16, the World Professional Chuckwagon Association races return June 22-25 and the rodeo runs July 26-29 during the Stampede.
