Friday morning house fire on Southwest Hill

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Fire officials are investigating Friday afternoon after a house fire on the Southwest Hill around 8:30 a.m.

A platoon chief with Medicine Hat Fire and Emergency Services told CHAT News the fire was extinguished quickly but not before the home suffered heavy smoke damage.

The damage was contained to the inside of the home.

There were no people present at the time of the fire but unfortunately two dogs were home and died in the fire.
