Rideshare company en route to Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB – With limited variety of modes of transportation around the city, more are welcome.

A Canadian company called Uride is on it’s way to Medicine Hat, where it will make its Alberta debut. The company serves more than 10 communities between Ontario and British Columbia.

Medicine Hat is the lone Albertan city the rideshare company has planned for to date. The city is a great fit for Uride, according to the company’s western Canada regional operations manager Ravi Dhami.

“We kind of target small- to medium-sized communities and Medicine Hat kind of fit the role perfectly,” said Dhami on Thursday.

“Safe, reliable, and affordable transportation can be hard to come by at times, so we’d love to come in and address that need for the people of Medicine Hat.

The company aims to get started in the Hat in time for summer. They’re in need of more drivers in order to be able to offer reliable source of transportation at all times.

“We’re probably looking for a few dozen, just to ensure we can provide exceptional service 24/7,” said Dhami, when asked about how many drivers the company is searching for.

“Until we’re comfortable we won’t launch our services, but it’ll be dependent on drivers.”
