Medicine Hat woman plans to buy a house after winning on scratch ticket

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A Medicine Hat woman scratched her way to a $100,000 prize recently.

Lainee Cross Child won the cash playing the ticket on Christmas morning and claimed her winnings in February. Her dad had purchased the ticket as a gift from the Riverside Gas King two days before Christmas.

Cross Child says “I actually thought I had won $100 until I checked it on the app.” “I ran out of my room to the bathroom and got sick,” she recalled.

Cross Child brought her ticket to a local store where the cashier validated her big win. She has one big plan for her windfall….put the money towards buying a home.
