Cubs shut out by Bisons in Game 1

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Cubs have an uphill battle to advance to the Heritage Junior Hockey League championship.

The Cubs are down 1-0 in the South Division finals after being blanked 4-0 by the Okotoks Bisons on Wednesday in Game 1. The Cubs hung with the Bisons through 20 minutes but two goals in each of the final two periods powered the Bisons to the series lead.

Kellen Bojic made 34 stops in the loss.

The Cubs will try to even the series in Game 2 on Friday in Okotoks before coming home to the Kinplex for Games 3 and 4 on Sunday and Tuesday. Puck drop is 2:45 p.m. on Sunday and 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
