MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Public Library is hosting a free event to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8.

It will be the second installment of a new free program the library is hosting called Speaker Series.

The focus will be International Women’s Day and will aim to inspire and showcase female community leaders.

6 female guests will take the stage to share their experiences in the library’s theater tomorrow night at 6:30 P.M.

Youth and community librarian, Stephanie Kuhn says guests can expect a variety of well-informed speakers including entrepreneurs, politicians and women working in STEM fields.

“One of our speakers is the owner of Botanicals. I’m really excited for her talk because I know that she has gone from running her business inside her home, to setting up shop downtown to expanding in North Railway. So to hear her journey going through that I’m personally very excited to hear that,” says Kuhn

“We also have a scientist coming and she works for the actual national defense of Canada.
We also have our library board chair Rebecca; she will be one of our speakers as well as our mayor Linnsie Clark,” adds Kuhn.

The Speaker Series begins at 6:30 P.M. tomorrow in the library’s theater. The event is free and seating will be first come first serve.
