Pregame: Oil Kings at Tigers
MEDICINE HAT, AB – A stretch of four games in seven nights ends Friday for the Medicine Hat Tigers. They take on the Edmonton Oil Kings and with a victory they’ll close out their four-game homestand with a winning record.
The Tigers (25-24-8-1) snapped a pair of 11-game winning streaks this week in beating the Kamloops Blazers 7-3 and the Winnipeg Ice 6-4. In between they lost 5-2 to the Swift Current Broncos.
Western Hockey League champions last year, the Oil Kings (8-46-3-0) are at the other end of the standings this year. They’ve lost nine straight heading into tonight’s game.
Oasiz Weisblatt’s 55 points and Andrew Basha’s 51 points top the Tigers. The duo also lead the team with five points each against the Oil Kings in the season series. The Tigers have won all three of the season’s meetings between the teams.
