Rattlers Roundup: Women’s futsal team qualifies for ACAC championship

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s futsal team is conference championship bound.

Hosting the South Regional Tournament this weekend the women won three of four games to finish second and qualify for the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference championship two weekends from now.

The Rattlers beat Ambrose College 6-0 on Friday, Prairie College 13-1 on Saturday and Olds College 3-1 on Sunday. The Rattlers started the tournament earlier in the week with a 4-1 win over Lethbridge Colelge. Their only loss in the tournament came Saturday against eventual champion SAIT.

The conference championship will be hosted by Keyano College from March 10-12.

The Rattlers men’s team will not move on to the conference championship. The team went 1-4 in the south tournament, their only win a 6-4 victory over Prairie College on Saturday. The Rattlers lost 4-1 to Ambrose, 8-1 to SAIT and 8-2 to Olds on the weekend and 4-1 to Lethbridge earlier in the week.
