Scavenger hunt happening at Police Point Park

Feb 17, 2023 | 4:12 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Family Day looks different this year at Police Point Park due to all the ice.

Instead of the usual free snowshoeing and country skiing, there will be a new activity for the family to try.

Grace Porter, a Park Interpreter, says they’ll still have the build-a-wildlife kit and a fire roast like most years. But this time around, due to the weather, they are holding a park-wide scavenger hunt.

On the hunt, participants will be tasked with finding cutouts of elks, butterflies and stuffed eagles around the park. Players find clues on a map in order to collect stamps.

“They’re going to be scattered around the park. We have a little map made up with clues and stuff, and then they have to go find it,” said Porter.

Everyone from the community, not just families, can come on Monday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., for the free outdoor activities.
