UPDATE: Alberta Justice communications tells CHAT News the charge of criminal harassment against Thomas Fougere was withdrawn on May 24. The Crown prosecutors office says the decision to withdraw the charge “was based the assessment that there was no reasonable likelihood of conviction with respect to the charge of criminal harassment.”

MEDICINE HAT, AB — A trial date has been set for a Medicine Hat man accused of criminal harassment.

Thomas Fougere was charged by Redcliff RCMP on Feb. 16 last year.

The matter stems from a dispute that started at the scene of a house fire in Medicine Hat in December of 2021.

A member of the Medicine Hat Fire Department approached Fougere who was videotaping the scene that night.

The trial has been scheduled for June 26 this year.
