South Alberta Hockey Academy introduces U17 team

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The South Alberta Hockey Academy has made plans to expand next season, adding another team to their Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) roster.

Unanimous approval for the academy to add a Male U17 team was received from the CSSHL Board of Governors at the league’s semi-annual meetings.

Former 2010 WHL first-round draft pick of the Moose Jaw Warriors, Torrin White has been named the team’s head coach. White is currently an assistant coach with the SAHA Male U18 team.

The new team will add opportunities for students to join the CSSHL program, as well as, the High Performance programs. All players from the U17 and U18 programs will attend Eagle Butte High School in Dunmore.

Beginning in the 2023-24 school year, the new home for the team will be the Big Marble Go Centre in Medicine Hat home. Recruitment begins in the Spring, registration details can be found here.
