SWIFT CURRENT, SK – Brayden Boehm delivered the knockout punch in the sixth round of the shootout, giving the Medicine Hat Tigers their first win over the Swift Current Broncos this season.

Shane Smith got the Tigers on the board in the first period and second period markers Boehm and a pair from Bogdans Hodass gave the Tigers a 4-2 lead heading into the final 20 minutes. Two Broncos goals meant bonus time and a scoreless overtime period sent the game to a shootout.

Andrew Basha and Tomas Mrsic matched goals by Broncos Josh Davies and Caleb Wyrostok before Boehm sent the Tigers home with a 5-4 victory.

Beckett Langkow made 23 saves in the game and another four in the shootout.

The Tigers have two home games this weekend, hosting the Calgary Hitmen on Saturday and the Swift Current Broncos on Sunday. The clash with the Broncos is the makeup game after the game originally scheduled for Dec. 28 was postponed due to poor highway travel conditions.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. and if you can’t make it to the game you can hear all the action live on Wild 94.5 with voice of the Tigers Gino De Paoli.
