MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers struck early and held on for the win over their feline rivals on Tuesday at Co-op Place.

Cayden Lindstrom, Andrew Basha and Shane Smith all tallied in the first period against the Prince George Cougars on the way to a 5-2 victory.

Twice Prince George would score to get within two but each time the Tigers answered back. Basha scored his second of the night early in the third and Dallon Melin scored on an empty net with six seconds left to play.

Beckett Langkow made 27 saves in the Tigers net to pick up his 14th win of the season.

There’s no time to rest for the Tabbies, who are in Swift Current on Wednesday night to take on the Broncos.

The Tigers (16-21-5-1) are three points back of the Broncos (20-17-0-1) in the Central Division standings. The Tigers hold down fifth place, one spot back of the Broncos.

This is the fourth meeting of the season between the two teams. The Tigers are still looking for their first win over the Broncos in the 2022-23 campaign.

Puck drop is at 6 p.m. MT and if you can’t make it to the game you can hear all the action live on Wild 94.5 with voice of the Tigers Gino De Paoli.
