NE Crescent Heights residents asked to check their properties for any sign of a missing local woman

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat police are continuing to search for a missing local woman.

Jennifer Chemelli-Magnus was last seen on Dec. 30, 2022. According to Medicine Hat Police Service, she left her residence on foot and at about 6:30 p.m. she was observed on a security camera at the Parkview Liquor Cabinet located on 20 Street Northeast.

The video shows Jennifer exiting the store and walking through the parking lot of the strip mall at 717 20 Street NE, then proceeding on foot eastbound towards Eighth Avenue NE and north on Eighth Avenue NE, on the west side of the road.

About halfway between 20 Street NE and 21 Street NE, Jennifer is last seen on video crossing Eighth Avenue NE towards the east. This is the last visual sign of Jennifer and her whereabouts after are unknown.

The investigation into her disappearance has involved multiple physical searches of parks, green spaces, alleys, and fields in the area where she was last seen.

Police continue to follow up on tips and are again asking homeowners in Northeast Crescent Heights, specifically 20th Street and Eighth Avenue to check their properties, including sheds, garages, or any vehicles for any signs of Jennifer.

They are also asking homeowners to check security video from Dec. 30 for any signs of Jennifer.

Jennifer is described as a Caucasian female, 53 years of age, five-foot-three, 120-130 pounds, with dark hair. She was last seen wearing a black bomber-style jacket, black and white (snakeskin pattern) leggings, with black knee-high mukluks with tassels, a white scarf, black shoulder-style purse, and was carrying a black single-use plastic bag.
