RCMP investigating fatal pedestrian collision on Siksika First Nation

SIKSIKA FIRST NATION, AB – Officials are continuing to look into what caused a collision that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on a southern Alberta highway.

Gleichen RCMP was called to a motor vehicle collision on Jan. 9, on Highway 901 in the Siksika First Nation.

A woman was located deceased at the scene.

She was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who will work alongside RCMP to confirm her identity.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

RCMP and a collision analyst remained on scene for several hours investigating the collision.

The cause of the collision has yet to be determined.
