Conservative leader calls for probe into federal contracts awarded to McKinsey
OTTAWA — Conservative party Leader Pierre Poilievre is calling for a parliamentary inquiry into federal contracts awarded to consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
His comments come after Radio-Canada recently reported that the Trudeau government spent more than $84 million between March 2021 and November 2022 on contracts with the global consulting firm.
Documents tabled in the House of Commons at the request of the Conservatives show that the Department of National Defence is among the departments that most often used the firm’s services, hiring the company on seven contracts worth a total of more than $18 million.
Poilievre says the public needs to know what the money was used for and what influence McKinsey has had on the government.
