RCMP giving tips to prevent intruders while people are on vacation

Grande Prairie RCMP has some helpful tips for homeowners planning a warmer, winter vacation, to help keep unwanted visitors away from their property while they are gone.

Mounties suggest you let trusted neighbors know about your travel plans so that they can keep an eye on your home while you are gone.

They also say you should have a friend or neighbor check in on your home once in a while, as well as have them shovel your driveway and walkway while you are away.

Installing a security camera and sensor lights outside, or setting indoor and outdoor lights on timers is another helpful tip to keep intruders away.
