RCMP issues almost 25-hundred tickets over holiday season

Medicine Hat, AB–Alberta RCMP are releasing the results of efforts to keep the roads safe over the holiday season.
Between December 24th and January 2nd, 2023, RCMP carried out enforcement initiatives that resulted in 2, 296 traffic tickets being issued across the province.
RCMP also laid 172 impaired driving charges for a total of 2, 468 offences.
Speeding was the biggest issue with 707 people ticketed for driving too fast. 45 motorists were caught distracted driving and another 1, 544 drivers received tickets for safety violations including careless driving and driving with a suspended license.
