MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers will say goodbye to 2022 with a home-and-home series against the Swift Current Broncos, starting tonight at Co-op Place.

Despite being more than halfway through the season, this will be the first meeting between the two clubs. They’ll play eight times between tonight and March 25, the final game of the regular season.

The Tigers are currently two points ahead of the Broncos, and just ahead in the Central Division and Eastern Conference standings. The Tigers (13-18-4-1) are fourth in the division and eighth in the conference. The Broncos (14-15-0-1) are one spot back in both.

Brendan Lee leads the Tigers with 19 goals and 36 points. Andrew Basha tops the team with 25 helpers.

The Broncos are led by Mathew Ward’s 30 points and Josh Filmon’s 20 goals. Medicine Hat’s Caleb Wyrostok has seven goals and 13 points in 22 games played for the Broncos this season.

The Tigers opened the unofficial second half of their schedule on Tuesday with a 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes in Lethbridge. Lee and captain Owen MacNeil found the back of the next for the Tigers.

Puck drop tonight is at 7 p.m. from Co-op Place, and if you can’t make it you can hear all the action live on Wild 94.5 with voice of the Tigers Gino De Paoli.
