MEDICINE HAT, AB – A holiday fire in a fireplace is a sight to behold. Anywhere outside a fireplace is usually a disaster.

Medicine Hat Fire and Emergency Services is running a Christmas campaign on Facebook to prevent fires and improve public safety.

Fire prevention officer Curtis Sjodin joined Dan Reynish on CHAT News at Noon, offering tips like making sure there’s no damage to your light wires, the importance of not letting your tree dry out and keeping everything away from heat sources.
