Pregame: Tigers at Raiders

Dec 14, 2022 | 12:15 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A quick two-game trip to northern Saskatchewan ends tonight for the Medicine Hat Tigers in Prince Albert against the Raiders.

The first game of the trip was a forgettable one, an 8-3 loss to the Saskatoon Blades on Tuesday. The Tigers took a 1-0 lead into the second period before the Blades scored six straight goals on the road to sweeping the season series.

Brendan Lee opened the scoring with his team-leading 18th goal of the season, followed by Shane Smith and Oasiz Wiesblatt adding third period goals.

As with last night’s contest, the Tigers are looking to avoid being swept by the Raiders, despite having the better overall record.

The Tigers (11-16-4-1) sit fourth in the Central Division and ninth in the Eastern Conference with 27 points. The Raiders (10-18-2) have 22 points and hold down sixth place in the East Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.

Tyler MacKenzie leads the Tabbies with two goals against the Raiders this season, and Andrew Basha has added three assists.

Puck drop is at 6 p.m. MT from the Art Hauser Centre and you can hear all the action live on Wild 94.5 with voice of the Tigers Gino De Paoli.
