Strathcona Island Park washrooms closed for winter

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The washrooms in Strathcona Island Park have been closed for the winter, replaced by two portable washrooms.
The City of Medicine Hat says the washroom is typically open all year, but that has led to problems.
In recent years, the water and wastewater infrastructure sustained recurring damage due to freezing in extreme temperatures, according to the city.
The decision to close the facility in favour of porta-potties was made with the intention to rehabilitate the building in 2023, adds the city in a news release.
