MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat College Rattlers basketball and volleyball teams closed out the first semester’s schedule with each of the four teams taking on the Olds Broncos.

At home, the men’s basketball team took both games from the Broncos. On Friday night the Rattlers won 83-77 and followed that with an 88-78 win on Saturday.

The weekend wasn’t as good for the women, who fell 71-64 on Friday and 76-56 on Saturday.

At the break, the men sit second in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference South Division with a record of 8-2, and are two points behind Lethbridge. The women’s team has yet to win through 10 and is last in the division.

On the road in Olds, the wins were reversed in volleyball action.

The women’s team was victorious in three sets on Friday and won 3 sets to 1 on Saturday. Their record is 5-7, good for third place in the division.

The men dropped both of their matches in Olds, losing in four sets on Friday and three on Saturday. They are 1-11 at the break.

The Rattlers return to action in January. The basketball teams will host Ambrose University on Jan. 12 and the volleyball teams will host the University of Alberta-Augustana on Jan. 13.
