Lab services in Medicine Hat, Brooks will be changing in the new year

Nov 29, 2022 | 10:41 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Changes are coming to lab services in Medicine Hat and Brooks.

Starting on Feb. 28, the lab at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital will shift focus to the needs of emergency, inpatient and ambulatory patients. Community patients will be directed to the lab on Carry Drive SE.

A similar move will see the lab at the Brooks Health Centre focus on internal patients, with community patients directed to the lab on Cassils Road.

The changes are part of the transition of community lab services from Alberta Precision Laboratories to DnyaLife Medical Laboratories.

As clients are currently able to book appointments 90 days in advance, clients scheduling an appointment on Nov. 30 or later (for appointments after Feb. 28) will no longer see appointments available at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital or the Brooks Health Centre.

Community and walk-in patients will be re-directed to the community lab. Clients can book appointments at the community lab online or by calling 1-877-868-6848.
