Suspected fentanyl detected in Halloween candy in Alberta
ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE, AB – The RCMP says a package of Halloween candy in Central Alberta may have contained fentanyl.
On Nov. 2, Rocky Mountain House RCMP received a report from a concerned parent who told police that they found three pieces of a dark unknown substance inside the package.
It was sent to the Alberta RCMP Forensic Identification Section for further analysis.
RCMP officials now say the investigation has resulted in a presumptive positive test for the presence of fentanyl. Further testing will be conducted to confirm this.
