Nov 2, 2022 | 9:30 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A victory and a point in the standings slipped away from the Medicine Hat Tigers in heartbreaking fashion on Tuesday.

The Tigers took a 2-1 lead into the third period and held on for 19:55 before the Vancouver Giants’ Zach Ostapchuk used the extra attacker advantage to send the game to overtime. Jaden Lipinski put the game away on the first shot of the extra frame at 3:28, giving the visitors the 3-2 win.

Trailing 1-0 after the first period, Brayden Boehm tipped in a Dru Krebs shot for his fifth of the season to tie the game early in the second. Bogdans Hodass buried a rebound midway through the second to put the Tigers on top heading into the final frame.

Beckett Langkow made 26 saves in the loss.

It’s the second straight OT loss for the Tigers at Co-op Place after falling 4-3 to the Victoria Royals on Saturday.

The next game for the Tigers is Friday at the Tsuut’ina Seven Chiefs Sportsplex against the Calgary Hitmen. They return to Co-op Place to host the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday evening.
